Extension of the Eole RER E: Widening of the railroad bridge du Canal Saint-Denis in Paris
As part of the extension of the Eole RER E, Matière® was mandated to widen the rail bridge of the Saint-Denis canal in Paris.
This large-scale project for the Ile de France aims to extend Line E an additional 55 km west of the capital. Since the train is an engine of sustainable development, the extension of the Eole RER E is part of a committed and responsible approach to the environment.
For Matière®, this project in the Rosa Parks sector, Paris East, required the fabrication of the metal framework in our Charmes factory. The central span of the rail bridge is made up of two metal arches. The latter will be installed by barge on April 26 and May 1, 2020.
Here are the main features of the structure:
- Type: box girder bridge on a metal arch with concrete-coated beams;
- Length: 79 m;
- Weight: 365 t.
