Replacement of the decks of the Medoc railway bridge in Bouscat
The Matière® metal teams intervened in Gironde for the replacement of the decks of the Medoc railway bridge in the Sainte-Germaine district of Bouscat.
The old structure was no longer able to support the passages of the D line of the Bordeaux tramway as well as the TER.
The work involved supplying the metal frame manufactured at our Charmes plant and assembling the two decks on a platform made available to us by Civil Engineering (CG).
On the occasion of a punch operation, the frames were moved to their final position using self propelled trolleys (Kamag) as you can see in this video:
The unit weight of the decks manufactured is 180 tons with the concrete of the deck and its reinforcement. The operation took place during the weekend of the climb between Thursday, May 30 and Sunday, June 2, 2019.
Here are the main features of the two decks:
- Length: 21 m;
- Width: 5 m.
